‘CarbonQuest’ is a project that relies on volunteers to collect soil and plant samples from salt marshes across England, Scotland and Wales. With your help, we’re painting a detailed picture of saltmarsh carbon storage across Great Britain.

 

All volunteers need to do is complete a simple survey of their local salt marsh using an App and some basic survey equipment. Volunteers then upload their data and send soil samples to us in a pre-paid envelope.

 

To become a CarbonQuest volunteer, contact Cai Ladd at cside@bangor.ac.uk and we’ll send you the survey equipment and instructions. You can see where our volunteers are surveying using the interactive map. Find your nearest marsh to see if you can help as well!
